Using the power of intention is key to manifesting your dreams
No matter your budget, you can travel! Here’s a step-by-step guide to add more travel into your life by using the power of manifesting. Get ready to pack your suitcase because you’re going places!
We are just an ordinary couple from Colorado. And yet in 2018 we traveled to some of the most beautiful places in the world: Paris, Florence, Venice, and London to name just a few.
Our friends tease us that we must have hit the lottery, but that’s not the case. What we did was develop a lifestyle that not only supports our love of travel, but typically enables us to make more money traveling than staying at home. And no, that doesn’t involve putting up bikini pics on Instagram! It does mean focusing on what we want and manifesting results.
Intention: Your new travel super power
The first secret to manifesting anything in your life is to create an intention. Intentions fuel your visions and make your dreams a reality. Intentions keep you focused when the world offers a million distractions that make you forget what you really want. Getting clear on your intentions and what you want to manifest gives you a super power that will transform your life. We are proof. In 2016, we created an intention to travel.
Our travel story began in a hospital room when Diane suffered life-threatening complications following a routine surgery. To get us through those dark and strange days we would talk about what we wanted to do once Diane healed. At that time, there were no guarantees that Diane ever be would be strong and healthy again, but we lived on hope and small mercies to get us through. Holding hands in her hospital room, we would look at the clean windswept sky outside of the hospital window and talk about the life we wanted to create. Travel came up again and again and we promised ourselves that one day we would dance beneath the Eiffel Tower. It was a ridiculous idea; crazy, impossible. But it brought us happiness and that little bit of happiness allowed hope to creep in on its coattails. When Diane got out of the hospital, we knew it was time to begin manifesting.
What’s your travel dream?
Here are some of our travel dreams that have come true once we put the power of intention and manifesting to work for us. Maybe one of them is yours. Maybe ALL of them are yours!
Watch a Broadway show in New York City
View a Renoir in Paris
Eat a scoop of gelato while walking the streets of Florence
Whatever your travel dream is, setting an intention is the first step in manifesting your dreams.
6 Steps to Manifesting your travel goals
1. Be specific.
“I intend to travel” is too vague. Unless you work at home, you travel to work Monday through Friday. But that’s not the travel you have in mind. Better: “I intend to travel to Paris.” Successful manifesting requires you to hone in on exactly what you want.
2. To begin manifesting, create an intent that excites you.
Using Paris as an example, why do you want to travel to Paris? What do you want to experience there? Include that in your intention. Ours was “We intend to travel to Paris to dance beneath the Eiffel Tower.”
3. Stay positive.
Don’t say, “If I only had enough money, I would travel to Paris.” Your subconscious will focus on the idea that you don’t have enough money. You want to focus on the positive when you are serious about manifesting. This tells your subconscious that you are going to Paris and you are going to dance beneath the Eiffel Tower.
4. Make your intention part of your life for successful manifesting.
Write it down. Say it to yourself upon waking. Repeat it throughout the day. Let it be the last thing you think of when you go to sleep.
5. Be open to new possibilities.
When we set our first intention to dance beneath the Eiffel Tower we had no idea that we were setting into motion an entirely new lifestyle that would see us traveling to some of the most beautiful places in the world. We were at a crossroads in our life. We stayed open to the possibilities, explored new ideas and developed a way of travel that suits us and our pocketbook. That’s how Slow Stroll Travel was born. Staying open to what is possible was key to our manifesting success.
6. Be grateful!
When you make gratitude a daily practice, you get twice as much delight from life. Once when you are experiencing that for which you are grateful, and again when you are expressing gratitude for it. Go crazy with gratitude. This is key to manifesting! Write down five things you are grateful for each day. Get a sketch pad and draw the things that made you happy. Our brains are funny things. Once we start noticing what we are grateful for, our brains start looking for things to make us happy.
What are you looking forward to manifesting? Write your intention in the comments below. Maybe we will meet you the next time we are in Paris!

Oh yes! Intentions are so important! Years ago, Rev. Edwene Gaines was offering a woman’s trip to England — I didn’t have the money yet I declared I was going — and I did, and caught the travel bug!
